Julie is a Consultant for Family/Children’s Ministries, assisting churches and parents in reconnecting the spiritual development of children to the home.  She works under Church Assistance Ministries (CAM).  CAM’s mission is to assist churches by training, coaching and facilitating strategic implementation of the church's God-given mission.​

My MISSION...​

Julie’s mission is to influence the culture of the church and the home to better  reflect the Biblical model for passing  faith to the next generation; a model where the home becomes the primary source of spiritual development for children, and the church comes along-side parents with training, equipping and resources.

My VISION...​

By influencing one church or one family at a time, we will begin seeing research reversing itself and retaining 80-90% of our 'church grown' kids to the faith instead the research being done now that indicates we are losing 75-90% of our 'church grown' kids as they leave home.​

 

My FOUNDATIONAL PRINCIPLES...

​

1) Parents are the primary spiritual influencers in the life of a child.

​

2) The role of the church is to come alongside parents as the community of faith, supporting them as they endeavor to model their faith, build relationship, and teach their children God’s Word at  home.  The church can be a great ‘extended family’ for each other. The home needs to be a child’s first ‘small group’ experience.

3) Ultimately, the Holy Spirit is the One who works in our children’s lives bringing them into relationship with God through Jesus Christ. 

 

God’s Strategy

Hear, O Israel: the LORD our God, the LORD is one. Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

I will open my mouth in parables, I will utter hidden things, things of old what we have heard and known, what our fathers have told us.  We will not hide them from their children; we will tell the next generation of His power, and the wonders he has done.  He decreed statutes for Jacob and established the law in Israel, which he commanded our forefathers to teach their children, so the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born and they, in turn, would tell their children.  Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds but keep his commandments.

BIO

​Julie Kurz has been in ministry for 24 years. She first served as Children’s Director at Bethany Evangelical Free Church in Littleton, Colorado for 17 years. Then in 2006 she responded to God’s call to leave the security of a paid staff position and become an independent consultant working to influence the culture of the home and the church.  This led to the formation of Reconnect Ministries, a ministry dedicated to assisting churches and families develop strategies and programs for implementing God’s Biblical ‘Blueprint’ and ‘Strategy’ for passing faith from one generation to the next. As an independent consultant, Julie’s mission is to influence the culture of the church and the home to better reflect the Biblical model for passing faith to the next generation; a model where the home becomes the primary source of spiritual development for children and the church comes alongside parents with training, equipping and resources.

 

From 2006 – 2011 Julie worked under the umbrella of the EFCA in the Rocky Mountain District. She also served on the EFCA’s National Family & Children’s Ministries Council and worked as the National Trainer for Family & Children’s Ministries for the EFCA. As Director of Reconnect Ministries Julie now operates under the umbrella of Church Assistance Ministries (CAM is a global organization assisting churches in all areas of ministry development) where Julie is the designated Family/Children’s Ministries Consultant. In addition, Julie is a Certified Consultant for the National Center for Biblical Parenting. 

 

Most recently, Julie was asked to be on the leadership team for the North American Family Challenge in the Transform World 2020 Vision (7 Challenges, 7 Spheres, 3 Generations, 10 Regions) and the North American 4/14 Window Movement.  Her team participated in a working conference in Bali, Indonesia in November, 2012 where they joined other teams from 10 regions of the world working in the other challenges and spheres. All generations were represented in Bali making it a thrilling experience!  Julie’s team was also asked to participate in, and teach at, workshops at the 4/14 Strategic Summit in Minneapolis, May, 2013. This team is now spearheading the North American 4/14 Family Challenge and praying that this movement will spread to families and churches all over North America.  The 4/14 Movement and 2020 Vision are overlapping initiatives started by Luis Bush who also initiated the 10/40 Window in the ‘90’s. 

 

As a Consultant for Family/Children’s Ministries, Julie can assist your church in the following ways:

1. Awareness workshop for pastors, leadership teams, CM teams, parents, congregations.

2. Strategy consulting to help churches develop appropriate methodology in their unique church culture.

3. Coaching for CM pastor/directors or staff teams to maintain the unique strategy developed for your church.

4. Help your church with a “90-Day Family Adventure” program which encourages faith-at-home.
